About

Hello and Welcome!

Ashley here – I’ve been crocheting for over 10 years now. When I started, I was looking for an alternative to knitting. Holding the needles always seemed to cramp my hands and knuckles. Crochet seemed an excellent substitution. It even gave me more flexibility with stitches and designs.

I’ve always loved creating things and have had a myriad of hobbies over the years. Crochet has been the one to stick and remain most dominant. To me, it’s a great way to keep my hands busy and my mind still/focused. It has always calmed me and given me something to focus on, especially when there was so much going on in my life.

Since my early 20s, I’ve been known to transport portable projects with me. Whether riding the bus or subway, attending hospital/doctor appointments waiting on loved ones, or even camping I’ve almost always had something to work on. I’m also like having something to show for my time.

I became a mama in 2020, the middle of a pandemic. Spending the majority of the last year in lockdown has been hard on my mental health. This has made me turn towards crochet even more. Counting stitches, matching patterns with different yarns; it gives me something comfortable to think about.

Now, I’m creating baby blankets, wearables and household goods while raising my daughter in Toronto. I’m extremely thankful to have something that always puts my mind at ease.

Hoping you’ll stick around on this journey!
